The IWCS summer school program will provide students with the opportunity to take a new course during the summer for high school credit--Health & PE 9, Health & PE 10, Economics & Personal Finance. This will open-up their schedule during the school year and give them more flexibility to take advanced classes (AP, Dual Enrollment), add additional electives or participate in regional programs (Governor’s Schools). The tuition-based program will be delivered in an online format and will be facilitated by an IWCS teacher. Students must have access to the internet outside of school. Registration Deadline is June 16.

Each school year the Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) is required to report to the U.S. Department of Education the "Percent of parents with a child receiving special education services who report that schools facilitated parent involvement as a means of improving services and results for children with disabilities."

Isle of Wight County Schools is required by law to assess the needs of our school system in Title I, II and IV federal programs. A Title I, II and IV Needs Assessment survey is being made available to various stakeholders throughout the division, including employees, all parents, middle school and high school students, and community members to obtain feedback on perceived priorities that are either partially or fully funded by one of the previously mentioned grants.
As part of that assessment, the division needs your input to help plan and design these programs for next year. Please click the link below to complete a brief survey on the importance of various ideas and initiatives on your child's educational experience. The survey will close at 4:30 pm on Monday, April 24.

There are two opportunities for the public to visit and say “Goodbye” to the school where they, or their children, once walked the halls. If you can’t make it in person, don’t worry. IWCS is creating a video to document the current building.

In addition to teachers, Isle of Wight County Schools is seeking other qualified IWCS staff to support Summer School and ESY, including: Bus Drivers, Instructional Assistants, Food Service workers and a Nurse. If you are interested, please see the attached document for details.
