About Me
Hello!
Since 2022, I have been your In-School Suspension Coordinator at Georgie Tyler Middle School. We refer to my room as the Reflection Room. We want students not to have a negative association from the behaviors that resulted in their suspension. The students will learn how to atone for their mistakes and develop skills to improve their classroom learning environment. I have built a career of working with youth beginning in May 2004. I started working on the Eastern Shore of Virginia with First Home Care, a therapeutic foster care agency, as a Specialized Therapeutic Mentor. In 2008, I transitioned to Therapeutic Interventions. I worked in both the School-based Day Treatment and Community Home-based Treatment programs. I moved to Smithfield, VA in 2014 and worked 5.5 years with Suffolk Family YMCA’s Before and After School Care Program. I served as both Counselor and Site Director. I am committed to assisting children find their purpose, and develop the important life skills to become successful teens and adults.
