About Me

I earned a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education PK-6 from Gardner-Webb University in 2005 and started my career at Burns Middle School in North Carolina teaching 6th grade Earth Science. Since, I've obtained a middle school endorsement to teach 7th and 8th grade English, and enhanced my education at Virginia Tech, where I received a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies. After returning to Virginia and teaching 6th grade English in Suffolk Public Schools for 10 years, I decided to further my career with Isle of Wight County Schools. While in this county, I've had the privilege of teaching at the elementary, middle, and high school levels. I am thrilled to be at Georgie Tyler Middle School! My goal is to help students grasp the significance of English while enhancing their reading and writing skills as they prepare for their futures.
