I am excited to be the assistant principal here at Georgie D. Tyler Middle School! I am originally from New York where I received my BA in Psychology and Ms.Ed. in Inclusive Elementary and Special Education from Hofstra University. I began teaching special education in 2004 in a rural district in South Carolina. In 2010, I relocated to Maryland where I taught special education in a suburb near Baltimore. Upon relocating to Virginia in 2013, I worked for Suffolk Public Schools before joining Isle of Wight County Schools in 2016 as a special education teacher at Carrollton Elementary School. In 2017, I graduated with my Ed.S. in Educational Leadership from Liberty University and completed my administration and supervision certification. The 2017-2018 school year brought me to GTMS as an instructional coach with a focus on deeper learning opportunities for students and staff members. In 2018-2019, I began serving in the role as assistant principal at GTMS.
