I am extremely excited to be a school counselor at Georgie D.Tyler Middle School. I received a Bachelor of Arts degree in history with a concentration in Legal Studies from Virginia State University in 1998. In 2000, I obtained a Masters of Education in Guidance Counseling, also from Virginia State University. I worked as a 6th grade social studies teacher for three years in Petersburg Public Schools. I have been a school counselor in Isle of Wight County Public Schools since 2003. I started my counseling career at Windsor High School and enjoyed being there for ten years, and then I transferred to Smithfield Middle School and loved working there for four years. My goal is to provide students with exceptional support in personal, social, and academic domains to help them be college, career, and life ready. My passion is helping students spread kindness, empathy, and compassion to enable them to combat bullying.
